Founders & Educators

Dr. Liesle Elsey

Co-Founder

With over 15 years in the field of physical therapy and a decade dedicated specifically to pelvic health, Dr. Liesle Elsey, PT, DPT, is a seasoned clinician who blends science, empathy, and innovation in every treatment session—and now, in every course she teaches. What truly sets her apart is that she’s lived this—on both sides of the table. As a former patient herself, she brings deep empathy and lived experience to a field that often lacks both. She knows the gaps in care, the unanswered questions, and the power of getting it right. Dr. Elsey has spoken at the APTA MI Student Conclave "Bridging the Gap". She serves as a the guest lecturer at Wayne State University for "Exercise Considerations for Pelvic Health". These courses are the culmination of years of clinical practice, personal journey, and relentless learning—designed for therapists and providers who are ready to elevate their impact and treat pelvic health with the confidence and clarity it deserves.

Dr. Kate Coffman

Co-Founder

Dr. Kate Coffman is a pelvic health physical therapist, mentor, and educator whose career has been defined by both professional dedication and deeply personal experience. Her passion for pelvic health began during her clinical internships in physical therapy school. Since then, she has become a leader in advancing pelvic health care, mentoring clinicians, and sharing her expertise with colleagues and communities. Kate’s journey into pelvic health specialization became profoundly personal during her own four-year fertility journey. Living with endometriosis and PCOS, she experienced the physical, emotional, and financial toll of infertility firsthand. This lived experience fuels her empathy, compassion, and determination to support others on their pelvic health journeys. In addition to her clinical expertise, Kate has pursued advanced training in nearly every corner of pelvic health, including internal and external pelvic floor therapy, fertility-focused interventions, rehabilitative ultrasound, dry needling, pediatric pelvic health, and holistic integrative approaches. She is known for blending evidence-based practice with a whole-person perspective, drawing not only from research but from her own path as both provider and patient. As Co-Founder of The Pelvic Scholar, Kate brings her vision of empowering physical and occupational therapists to elevate the standard of pelvic health education. Her mission is to blend rigorous clinical training with the compassion that only lived experience can teach—ensuring practitioners not only master techniques, but also connect with the human side of pelvic health.
